Mission
The Island County Historical Society Museum seeks to promote a greater
understanding of the county’s past
and present through the management and expansion of its library and archival
collections.
The
Research Library and Archives is located on the second floor of the Museum and
is open to the public each Friday. If you
are
interested in visiting our library and/or conducting research or need assistance
on a particular research topic, we request that you make an appointment by
calling the Museum at 360.678.3310.
Our
library houses a wide array of material documenting this geographical region
including private papers, organizational, business and institutional records,
oral histories, correspondence, photographs, printed material, scrapbooks, maps
and architectural drawings, diaries, audio and video tapes and electronic
records, artwork, and ephemera which describe Island County from earliest times
to the present.

There is a fee applied to assisted research within our library and archives. A
minimum of $25 is requested when research assistance by a staff member is
required.
Copies: Photo copying of material
is allowed, however there is a fee applied at $0.25 per copy. Photo copies may
be made of non-archival printed material from the library and files and must be

newspapers, maps or other documents must be reprinted through digital scanning.
The fee for in-house scanned images is $10 per image for the first ten images
