Coupeville Authors Release Book to Benefit Museum  

The book features photographs and captions which illustrate the history of Coupeville, from Native American habitation to recent times.  Historic photos are from the collections of the Island County Historical Museum - but also included are many rare photos from private collections. 

Judy Lynn spent many hours interviewing the descendants of local pioneers and other longtime residents to find the best pictures to illustrate Coupeville’s colorful history.  “The hardest part of writing the book was making some very tough decisions on which photos would be used.  They were all so good!” said Judy Lynn.

"Industrious Islanders"

Coupeville –  The Island County Historical Museum announces the opening of its new exhibit, “Industrious Islanders”.  The new exhibit opens Tuesday, June 1, and features various “industry” of Island County life, from Woolly Mammoth hunting, to telecommunications. Some of the featured displays in the exhibit include an interactive telephone exhibit, antique printing press and early Island County Times editions, doctors, pharmacists, and midwives, and more.
