Sunnyside Cemetery Tours Organized by Museum
Tour One of Washington’s Oldest Territorial Cemeteries
Back by popular demand, the Island County Historical Society Museum’s annual
educational tour of historic Sunnyside Cemetery, one of the oldest
territorial cemeteries in Washington, will be offered once again, at 1 pm.
Local historian and author, Roger Sherman, will take you back through time
by sharing the legends and lore of our island's pioneer families, Native
ancestors, sea captains, and others who occupy the grassy knoll overlooking
Ebey’s Landing.
Roger will also take you on a tour of Davis Blockhouse located within the
cemetery. Don't miss the opportunity to invite friends, families and
out-of-town guests to join you in one of the island's best tours!
Tour fees are $5 per person, payable at the museum or at the cemetery on
the day of the tour.
For program and exhibition information, please contact the Island County Historical Museum at 360.678.3310 or visit the museum’s website at www.islandhistory.org
