Memorial Day Heritage Tour

Join us May 27, 2024 at 2PM for a guided tour of Sunnyside Cemetery. The tour will follow a memorial day flag ceremony by the American Legion Post 129 VFW and the Fleet Reserve.

Local Historians, Lee James and Patrick Hussey will share the stories of some of the “second wave” of early settlers of Whidbey Island. Learn what brought them, and how they shaped their new environment. A special hour-long tour will illuminate why this place of peace ranks high among Washington’s most important territorial burial grounds.
