Volunteer

ICHS is more than a museum. Our volunteers are actively involved in all aspects of our mission and in a wide variety of activities that keep our museum thriving. Several dedicated folks at our museum help run the admission desk and gift store on a daily basis, assist in many duties of the archives and collections departments, help with different aspects of exhibit construction, fundraising events, and more. Volunteers are the true backbone of the Island County Historical Society Museum. Whatever levels of skills you may have or wish to learn, our professional staff will help you find what's right for you.

What Our Volunteers Do:

  • Help us with our front desk and managing our museum store.

  • Provide tours to the public. Many of our volunteers are also excellent docents.

  • Special events always call for a little extra help.

  • Fundraising, marketing and publicity.

  • Help manage our collections & archives.

  • Participate in research.
