Dear Supporter,

It’s that time of year when we express gratitude and share what we have with each other. We are extremely grateful for all friends and supporters of the Island County Historical Museum. As a little boy visiting the museum this summer said, “This is the best place, ever!” and we agree. Thank you for helping us to keep it the best place.

We have exciting plans for 2024; including opening the new Ecology exhibit, partnering with Pacific Rim Institute to encourage regenerative tourism, and doing repair and maintenance on the boat shed roof, the outdoor benches, and the interior of the museum. We also hope to do more community events, and look forward to hosting exhibits by the Pacific Northwest art school showing traditional fiber arts, and the Daughters of Pioneers.

This was a tough year financially, as some sources of funding that we used to have are no longer available to us, and other sources were not able to provide as much as in previous years. As 2024 approaches, we humbly ask that you consider donating. Any level of giving can make a big difference to us and to the community. You can still benefit from the tax break for 2023 up until the end of the year.

We also have a new option- ADOPT A CRITTER. $100-$5000 will let you adopt an animal in the new ecology exhibit. We are having local animals, ethically found, prepared and mounted in the exhibit. Some possibilities are raccoons, squirrels, birds, and otters. You can adopt in your name, or in honor or memory of someone else. Specify if your gift is for adopt a critter, and let us know what name you want to be listed in the exhibit. Your donation may adopt all or part of an animal, and you agree that any outstanding funds may be used for the rest of the exhibit, as needed.

Can we count on your support and look forward to a new year full of possibilities? Use the enclosed envelope, or give online.

Thank you for supporting the Island County Museum this giving season.

Happy Holidays to You and Yours,

Dalva Church, Executive Director
