Pioneer Ties to Revolutionary War Veterans

In honor of this year’s 2025 celebration of the July 4, 1776, founding of our country, local historians Lee James and Dan McCone will offer a talk with a focus on several of Coupeville’s earliest pioneering families tracing them back to family ancestors who served in the East Coast Continental Army and state militias during the Revolution.

You’ll see official records documenting when and where soldiers served and what, exactly, they did during the Revolutionary War. We’ll get a sense for what it was like on the home front as well; it took a village to support the soldier.
