Michael Ferri will share The Native American Influence on the Constitution of the United States and how the governing philosophy of the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy influenced the Founding Fathers in establishing the fledgling  democratic government and Constitution of the American Republic.

We are all familiar with the governing ideas from many European sources that influenced our Founders as they wrestled with creating a democratically inspired breakaway form of government from the British monarchy. This presentation will show how an indigenous people of the new world also helped inspire the form of democracy that developed in our nation during the Colonial Period.
