ICHS Board President Michelle Cladusbid and Vice President Michael Ferri recount the killing of Isaac Ebey and the return of Kake tribal members in 2014.

Local Historian and ICHS Vice President Michael Ferri, and ICHS Board President Michelle Cladusbid bring to you the behind-the-scenes stories of what led to the death of Isaac Ebey in August of 1857. The story of that raid and what led up to it had become a part of the oral history of the Tlingit people, and Michelle had heard that story from her elders long before she ever came to Whidbey. Michael was present the day that the people of the Kake village came back to Whidbey and can tell the story of what happened that day from an insider’s point of view. Come and learn this intriguing story for yourself from this pair of enthralling speakers!
